The Many Things I Love About Luke

I remember having written something like this for Matthew. He was 2 years old, 8 months then. Buti na lang, I wrote something like that, di ko na actually matandaan lahat ng sinulat ko dun.

Now that Lukee is 2 years and 4 months old, I would like to do the same thing for him. Mahirap na, nagiging makakalimutin na ko, hehe!

Here are the many things I love about Luke:

1. He is a very independent boy. He can sleep on his own. Last week, I brought him and Matthew to my office without Yaya. This was my first attempt to do that. When Luke was finally sleepy, he just asked for his milky then slept on his improvised bed under my desk.

2. I'm sure Luke would grow up to be a very intelligent boy. He amazed us when was able to identify the letters of the alphabet at 1 year and 8 months old. Now he can count and knows the colors and shapes. He is ready for school. When we ask him if he wants to go to school already, he says, "yes!." So we are enrolling him to MSA Playcamp anytime soon. Dada and I sometimes wonder if he is really just two years old, hehe!

3. He likes to read and read a lot. Ako na ang sumusuko as in! I don't have to tell him, "let's read!."

4. Before he was able to talk completely, his favorite phrase was "tsope, tsope, nyome, nyome, epiza..." which we still don't know up to now what he meant by that.

5. At around one year old, he suddenly did not want to wear diapers anymore at home. He only wears diapers at night and when we go out. He tells when he wants to pee. Ang laking tipid sa diapers. (",)

6. We were surrprised that before turning two years old, he was able to talk and express himself both in English and Filipino. Nakakatuwa how he tried his best to talk in complete sentence. Galing!

7. He loves to dance with matching tumbling pa.

8. He loves bowling, the real one and the computer game. Hindi ako makagamit ng laptop madalas kasi gusto niya mag-bowling!

9. He is our prayer leader when we eat. "Lord, thank you for the food, amen!"

10. He attended Sunday School before turning two. Yaya says he is more behaved than Kuya Matt and participates more. Hehe!

11. I'm teaching him phonics now. He always asks, "mimi what's the (beginning) letter of this or that?" He'd say" a-a-a apple or b-b-b ball.

12. When he wants to go out at night, we'd tell him, it's dark na, it's night na. And he would repeat that all over again. "Gabi na, night na." SM is closed, Robinsons is closed.

13. His favorite shows are Barney, Wiggles, High 5, Wonder Pets, Gabba Gabba, Backyardigans, Dora and Diego.

14. Kuya Matt is afraid of the dark. When Kuya wants to go to the CR at night, we will ask Luke to accompany him.

15. Surprisingly, he eats veggies! And is not much into sweets except ice cream.

16. Like Matthew, he is so sweet and malambing. He would kiss me a lot even if I'm wearing lipstick, then he would say, "wala na , mimi." Wala na ang lipstick ko kasi napunta na sa kanya! He would also hold my lips in between his thumb and index fingers (just like how you hold your burger), and kiss me a lot. Oh, how i love that!

17. Repeat no. 1.

His first Starbucks.

The SunDress

Our first time in Bora. Year 2002. Jay proposed to me.

Last month was our 4th time in Bora together. 7 years later. I brought the same sundress with me. Wondering if it still would fit. Buti na lang...hehe!

Matt Moves Up to 2 Levels Higher

Matthew just had his moving-up ceremony last March 24 at SM Fairview Cinema 10. He received an award as Most Inquisitive Pupil, in other words, Pinakamakulit, he,he!

From Kinder 1, he's skipping Kinder 2. He's going to be in Prep in June. He's just 5, that means he'll be in Grade 1 by 6 years old.

He just has to take the Phonics 2 for 12 sessions this summer. This is to make up for the Phonics he'll be skipping in Kinder 2.

We're so proud of our boy. He's not as studious as other kids. I have to make sure he studies. He won't initiate it by himself. He's like his Dada. Nakakakuha ng good grades kahit di nag-aaral, hehe! The school principal said he was good in math and reasoning! Exactly like Dada.

Matt Turns 5

Kuya Matt turns 5 yesterday.

I first thought that since his birthday would fall on a school day, it was ok to just celebrate this at school. But Matt had a lot of requests. He wanted a costume party. He wanted to wear his Power Ranger outfit. He wanted pabitin and games. Things we could not do at school since birthday celebrations there could only take the recess time.

So we decided to do it either in Mcdo or Jollibee. He was the one who chose Mcdo since he loves the nuggets there.

I guess this is the right age that he has a say in his party. He chose the party theme and who to invite. Oh, he's having a world of his own...

Happy Birthday, dear Kuya Matt!

His guests were mostly classmates and churchmates.

The Power Rangers cake was courtesy of my good friend Avic of Edible Ideas.

Super Brother Luke danced the Papaya.

We were very happy!

6 Years After The Wedding

The long holidays gave me the chance to clean the family bedroom.

Dyarrrrrran...I found my wedding gown!

I was curious if it would still fit me, curious if I'm really back to my wedding weight.

VOILA!

The kids just loved to go inside the skirt.

OUR U.S. TRIP

I had a chance to make a collage of our US trip during the long holidays. I framed them and gave them to Jay as my Christmas gift. It's nice to look back in one of God's greatest blessings to us for 2008 even if I was 25 lbs. HEAVIER then, hehe!

Amazing Luke

Jay and I are so amazed with our second son, Luke. At 1 year and 8 months, he can now identify and pronounce most letters of the alphabet!

One day when we went to a dental clinic where there were rubber mats with pull-out alphabet letters, we were surprised that Luke would show and tell us what letter he was holding.

Luke actually showed early signs of love for reading and studying. He would often get a book and would ask me or Dada to read to him. He also loves to watch educational videos like Brainy Baby. He actually knows how to operate the DVD player. He loves to use his sketch board and would often ask me or Dada to draw for him.

My mom-in-law recounts that before Jay turned 2 years old, he could also recognize the alphabet but unlike Luke, he still had a difficulty pronouncing.

We feel really blessed!

SURPRISE...SURPRISE!!!!!

I had been busy with work that I was not able to post immediately the story of how I was able to REALLY SURPRISE Dada Jay on his 33rd birthday last Nov 19. I should be recounting the details na or else, with my two-time CS section, I might forget some things, hehe!

A week before his birthday, I was really thinking hard on how I would be able to make Dada Jay's birthday really special. Date? Pwede naman kami mag-date kahit di niya birthday. Card? Luma na! Gifts? Lagi na lang! AVP na may greetings ng artista? Last year ganun, hehe!

So pano nga ba? I asked him to confirm if he was taking a birthday leave or if he would go to work on his birthday. Work daw kasi he would take a leave na lang ng friday para diretso weekend celebration na.

Ok, so papasok siya. Esep-esep... I thought of conniving with her 2 officemates, M and C. I would bring food and asked their help to invite some officemates close to Jay.

Ang tagal na namin sa lobby, natutunaw na ang ice cream!I was with the two kids and asked my parents' help to accompany us since pumasok din ako ng office at nag-half day leave lang.

Officemate M actually gave up. She told us na pumunta na kami ng office with the merienda and friends at sabihin na lang kay Dada na, eto kami at may surprise kami, haha!

It was good there were 2 officemates who made a story at na-convince si Jay to go to a nearby shop.

So we sneaked in to his office, prepared the food , the friends came in and we waited for the cue that they were coming back.

Ang tagal naman nilang bumalik this time. Natunaw na ang birthday candles!

But when Dada came back and he was greeted by everyone around in chorus, "Happy Birthday!!!" he was in shock!!!!

He never had a hint that I would surprise him.

Early that day we were texting each other. I told him that I would date him that night. He replied " O sure, surprise me!"

Oh well, I REALLY DID SURPRISE HIM! Thanks to M & C. Thanks to his office friends! TYL! HE made this all possible.

This is our gift to Dada Jay. The second picture on the first row was Jay when he was a kid. Matt wrote the greeting.

We took a leave last Friday and headed to Baguio for the continuation of his birthday celebration. We, especially the kids, enjoyed the trip a lot.

We rode a boat in Burnham Park.

Kuya Matt and Luke had so much fun!!!

Kuya Matt was a proud driver to Luke!

Dada and Luke enjoyed horseback riding. Luke would cry when it was Kuya Matt's turn to ride!

Mimi's joy is overwhelming.

I love this shot!
