Matt's 1st Wall Climb

We were in Bora for 1 week to celebrate Dada's birthday. I guess it was Matt who enjoyed it the most because he loves swimming so much. It was my 4th time to be in Bora while it was Dada and Matt's 3rd time. Dada and I enjoyed the food. But Matt has another feat!

At 2 years and 9 months, he was able to climb Bora's d wall (located at d mall). Too bad I was not able to witness the whole thing because I got so hungry I bought a burger somewhere. I told myself maaabutan ko pa siya kasi baka matagalan si Dada na i-convince siya to climb. When I got back, nasa taas na siya and was set to go down! We were so proud of Matt!

Si Dada Jay din, nag-climb. It's also his first time. Nauna lang si Matt, hehe! Di ko siya nakunan ng pix eh. Video lang.

Our First Christmas Tree

It was fun putting up our family's first Christmas tree...

Matt was very excited that we're having our own this time.
He was very much eager to help.

Our tree is 7-feet tall.

Our color motif is red and gold.

Wow!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

My Havaianas

Dada Jay bought me this pair of Havaianas slippers last Saturday at Mall of Asia. He couldn't believe that I was actually gonna ask him to buy this for me. Why? Because this pair of slippers cost P1,095.00. If I bought slippers at the Department Store, I would have 10 pairs of slippers already! Oh well, I told him this is very durable, for lifetime na kumbaga. Hmmm, I wish I'm correct! Everytime I wear my Havaianas, Dada would make fun of them, teasing me and as if reminding me that I'm stepping on 500-peso bill at each foot.

And what a coincidence, just the other day, one of Matt's ninangs gave him Havaianas, too. I think Matt's pair is more expensive than mine, hehe. When I told Dada I would buy him a pair, he refused! (",)

The Many Things I Love About Matt

1. When he says, “Love you, Mimi,” OUT OF THE BLUE then kisses me all over my face. Ahh, that is so sweet!

2. When I tell him “I love you, Matt-matt,” he answers with, “Love you, Mimi…wag ka pasok sa office ha?”

3. When I see him get Dada’s vitamins and remind him to take them.

4. When he would patiently wait for Dada and me come home from work up until 11:30 pm every night. He is so excited to see us. After which, he would tell Yaya, “Good night, Yaya. Thank you.”

5. When he is so excited about something and he would pull me towards it. “Mimi, lika tignan mo, dali!” he says with a big grin on his face.

6. When he is sleepy, he would touch my eyes like they were his lullaby. "Mimi, milk saka touch ko eyes mo. " When Dada insists that his eyes be touched, ayaw nya, "Mimi lang. " When we think he is already asleep, Dada would shift Matt's hand to his eyes, but then he could tell the difference between Mimi's eyes and Dada's, hehe! So kay Mimi talaga idadantay ang hand niya.

7. When he sings “Elephants…elephants...” in a modulated tone stretching one hand as if it were the elephant's nose. This is one of his many favorite scenes in Barney. When we went to Mall of Asia one time, Mama Inday (MIL) bought him a small toy elephant. He would bring that out when that scene is on and he would stamp his feet like an elephant.

8. When he sings the ROCK version of “Twinkle, twinkle…little star…” again another favorite in Barney. Recently, we bought him a star-shaped pillow and he gets it when he sings that.

9. After kissing my tummy and saying, “Love you, baby,” he would often burst into blowing my tummy to make a sound for baby to hear.

10. When he would cheer, “Go La Salle…go, go La Salle.” Oh I think he would be a La Sallian like his Dada. (",)

11. When asked by friends, “Bakit pogi si Matt?” he would reply “Kasi pogi dada ko.” Tapos hihirit ng “Asus…”

12. Go back to number one...(",)

Oh well, that’s our Matty. He can be very naughty at times but remains so smart and so sweet…

Guess Who This Baby Is...

This is Mimi Dang. Would you believe this is the only tangible proof that I was once a baby, hehe! This is the ONLY BABY PICTURE I HAVE!!! So it is so precious. My dad was assigned then in the far town of Pililla, Rizal. We didn't have a camera of our own. This picture was taken in the only photo studio that Pililla had that time. My nanay could not remember how many months I was here. But probably, I was 6-8 months old (because I could already sit). The next picture I had was when I was 7 years old already. If we were to have a baby girl, I hope she would look like me, hehe!

Funny Matty

Matt is growing up so fast. He can express himself a lot better now and he knows what he wants and does not want. He would choose the polo or shirt he wants to wear when we go to Church or somewhere else. He would order for his favorite drink when we dine out. He would answer the phone when it rings and he is like a big boy when you talk to him over the phone. He has an opinion now. One time, I was having a foot spa and pedicure while he and Dada were playing in SM Storyland. The attendant was already doing my pedicure when Matt sat by my side and asked me…

Matt: Mimi, ano gawa sa ‘yo?
Mimi: Pedicure, nililinis yung mga kuko ko.

He looked over to the woman next to me who was having her foot scrub.

Matt: Eh sa kanya, ano gawa?
Mimi: Nililinis yung paa niya.
Matt: Bakit Mimi, para hindi BAHO paa niya? {innocently (“,)}

I was quite embarrassed for the other woman! I just hoped she didn’t hear what Matt said, hehe! Funny Matty without even trying!

Pregnancy Blues

This pregnancy is very different from that I had with Matt. I have a lot of food cravings. I would ask my Nanay to come over our house (straight from Bulacan) to cook for me the dishes she used to prepare for our family. My favorite is sinigang na bangus, but mind you, I would not eat the bangus in it but instead, I would ask to set aside some parts and have them fried. That’s yummy for me, only the sinigang soup and veggies plus the fried bangus. Sometimes, I would super crave for something, but halfway, I would stop eating and say “ayoko na, hindi masarap.”

I also become very emotional this time. Here’s one story I shared with my friends…

Wala akong makita sabi niya,

I CRIED A LOT...

Iyak ako nang iyak...Doon lumabas yung linya ko na "I just need to know that you understand."

So whenever I have pregnancy blues, he would always tell me, “I understand.” Thanks, Dada! He!he!

We’re Having Our 2nd Baby…

This picture was taken the morning we found out that I’m pregnant for the second time. I was six days delayed and I was feeling lower abdominal pain when stressed a few days before. So Dada Jay and I decided that I took the test to take caution and for me not to overwork. We were very happy that the result was positive because we were really planning to have another baby. We’re praying for a girl this time…Matt is very happy that he is going to be a Kuya, he always kisses Mimi’s tummy and says “love ko si baby.”

My Time Has Come...Finally Blogging!

Finally! I found the time to create my blog! Dada Jay helped me start it. We're still exploring how to make the blog better.

So why am I blogging? Well, I got inspired by my Misis friends who also have blogs. I used to write a diary when i was a lot younger. So i thought why not have an online journal and keep all the memories together? I'm not a superb writer. I just know how to. I guess i'm into writing all my life. It's one of God's gifts to me. It was part of my school days (being involved in school journals). It's also part of my work in a broadcasting company and it's one Ministry God has led me to do. God helped me revive a news magazine in our Church. In fact our newsmag is entitled "Our Journey" (named by our Churchmate Denden). So when I was thinking of a name for this blog (pahiram ha, Den?), MY JOURNEY came in at once because I will be sharing my own personal journey in this blog.

Well friends, happy reading! I'm so excited. I have to stop writing now because it's past 1am and later is Church day.
